His research interests include CO₂ storage and underground hydrogen storage.He coordinates the HyDRA project and is a deputy director at Centre for Sustainable Subsurface Resources \nAbout the webinar \nLarge-scale underground storage will be essential for hydrogen to contribute effectively to a future low-carbon energy system. HyDRA is a European research project funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme that aims to support the safe and reliable storage of hydrogen in porous geological formations. Now at its midway point\, the project brings together researchers and industry stakeholders from across Europe to improve our understanding of underground hydrogen storage and develop practical approaches for assessing and managing potential risks. This presentation will introduce HyDRA\, highlight the progress and key lessons from the first half of the project\, and outline how its results will contribute to future site screening\, risk assessment and guidance for storage operators. \n  \nWho should attend? \nThis webinar will be of particular interest to: \n\nResearchers and students in geoscience\, reservoir engineering\, microbiology and energy systems\nIndustry professionals working with hydrogen storage\, CO₂ storage and reservoir management\nPolicymakers and stakeholders involved in the energy transition\nAnyone interested in sustainable subsurface resource use\n\n  \nEvent format \nThe session will begin with a short introduction to CSSR\, followed by the scientific presentation and an open Q&A session. \nPlease note: The introduction and presentation will be recorded and made available after the event.
